Microgramma nitida is a fern species in the family Polypodiaceae, native to various regions in Central and South America, as well as the Caribbean. It was first described in 1975 by A.R. Smith, based on earlier work by J. Smith.

Description

Microgramma nitida is a member of the Polypodiaceae family, a group of ferns commonly found in tropical and subtropical regions. This species is distributed across several countries including San Andrés, Providencia y Santa Catalina, Belize, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Jamaica, Mexico, Nicaragua, and Panamá. It is found in multiple regions of Mexico, including the Central, Gulf, Northeast, Southeast, and Southwest areas, as well as the Windward Islands. The species was formally published in 1975 by A.R. Smith, with the original description attributed to J. Smith.
