Mentzelia hispida is a species of flowering plant in the Loasaceae family. It is found in central, Gulf, northeast, northwest, southeast, and southwest regions of Mexico. The plant is commonly known as pega ropa, a name derived from its tendency to stick to clothing. It thrives in scrub and woodland environments. The species was first described in 1799 by Willd.
