Polemonium chartaceum is a species of flowering plant in the family Polemoniaceae, commonly known as Mason's Jacob's-ladder. It is native to California and has a disjunct distribution, occurring in the Klamath Mountains and the ranges east of the Sierra Nevada, including the White Mountains, where it extends into Nevada. This plant is found at high elevations in exposed, rocky mountain habitats such as talus and alpine fellfields.

Description

Polemonium chartaceum, described by H. Mason and published in 1925, is a member of the Polemoniaceae family. It is known by the common name Mason's Jacob's-ladder in English. The species is native to California and is found in the Klamath Mountains and the mountain ranges east of the Sierra Nevada, with a presence in the White Mountains extending slightly into Nevada. It grows in high-altitude environments, specifically in rocky, exposed areas such as talus slopes and alpine fellfields.
