Manilkara dardanoi is a tree species in the family Sapotaceae, native to a limited area in Pernambuco, Brazil. It is found in coastal and secondary forests, where its habitat is increasingly threatened by deforestation and land conversion for human use.

Description

Manilkara dardanoi, described by Ducke in 1950, is a member of the Sapotaceae family, commonly known as the sapodilla or sandalwood family. This species is endemic to the northeastern region of Brazil, specifically in the state of Pernambuco. It occurs in coastal forests and in older secondary forest areas further inland. The tree's habitat is under pressure due to ongoing deforestation and land clearing for human settlement and development. As a result, the natural range of this species is shrinking, raising concerns about its long-term survival in the wild.
