Mangifera sumbawaensis

Mangifera sumbawaensis belongs to the genus Mangifera and is part of the Anacardiaceae family, commonly known as the cashew family. This species is endemic to Indonesia, specifically found on the island of Sumbawa. It was formally described and published in 1993 by the botanist Kosterm. As part of the broader Mangifera genus, it is related to other mango species but is distinct in its geographic distribution and ecological niche. The plant is adapted to the local environment of Sumbawa, where it is a part of the regional flora.
