The tree can reach 30 metres in height and 60 centimetres in diameter, though it typically grows to 15 metres tall with a 45-centimetre diameter at breast height. It has elliptic to oblong leaves, 5 to 23 cm long and 2 to 6 cm wide, and white flowers with five stamens, one of which is fertile. The fruit are obliquely subrotund drupes, 8 to 9 cm in diameter, with a thin layer of fibrous flesh and seeds with an irregularly lobed and folded surface.
