Malva subovata, known as tree mallow, is a flowering plant in the Malvaceae family. It is native to the western and central Mediterranean regions, including Algeria, France, Italy, Spain, and other nearby areas. Previously classified as Lavatera maritima, it has received the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Description

Malva subovata (DC.) Molero & J.M.Monts. is a species of flowering plant in the Malvaceae family, commonly called tree mallow. It is native to the western and central Mediterranean, with a distribution that includes Algeria, the Balearic Islands, Corsica, France, Italy, Morocco, Sardinia, Spain, and Tunisia. This species was previously known as Lavatera maritima and was recognized with the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit. It was formally published in 2005.
