Malus doumeri is a species in the genus Malus of the family Rosaceae. Native to temperate and tropical Asia, it is a small tree or shrub growing 4 to 10 (15) m tall. The species flowers in May and produces mature fruits from August to September. It is found in mixed forests at elevations of 700 to 2400 m a.s.l.

Description

Malus doumeri has branches that are terete, pubescent when young, and glabrescent. Its leaves are petiolate with a petiole of approximately 1.9 cm, and the lamina is oblong to ovate, measuring about 9.4 × 3.8 cm. The inflorescence is corymbose with 4 to 5 flowers, and the pedicel is 1.5 to 3.0 cm long. The fruit is a pome, subglobose, yellow to red in color, and 2.5 to 5.5 cm in diameter. The species has a chromosome number of 2n = 34.
