Macrosolen parasiticus (L.) Danser is a parasitic shrub in the Loranthaceae family, distributed in Assam, East Himalaya, India, Sri Lanka, and Tibet. It is also known as parasite honeysuckle and is native to tropical regions of South and South West India, particularly the Western Ghats. The species was described by Danser in 1938.

Description

Macrosolen parasiticus is a member of the Loranthaceae family, commonly referred to as parasite honeysuckle. It is a parasitic shrub found in regions including Assam, East Himalaya, India, Sri Lanka, and Tibet. The species is particularly common in the tropical areas of South and South West India, especially in the Western Ghats. It was formally described by Danser in 1938. Previously, it was considered a superfluous name for Lonicera parasitica L., which was first described in 1753.
