Macarthuria complanata is a member of the Macarthuriaceae family and is native to the eastern coast of Australia. It is characterized by its uniquely winged stems and short pedicels. This species is confined to dry heath environments, with significant populations in Noosa National Park and Rainbow Beach. Noosa National Park is especially important, as it contains 14 known sites where the species occurs, highlighting its role in the conservation of this endemic plant.
