Theobroma bicolor, a tree in the Malvaceae family, is native to Central and South America. It is found in the Amazon rainforest regions of Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru, as well as in other parts of the Neotropics.

Description

Theobroma bicolor, commonly known as the Macambo tree, is a member of the Malvaceae family and the Theobroma genus, which includes Theobroma cacao. It is distributed across several countries in Central and South America, including Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Its range extends through the Amazon rainforest and other tropical regions. It is also recorded in parts of Mexico, Central America, and the Caribbean. The species was first described by Bonpl. in 1806.
