Pinus lumholtzii is a conifer species in the family Pinaceae, endemic to northwestern Mexico. It is named after Norwegian explorer Carl Sofus Lumholtz.

Description

Pinus lumholtzii, also known as Lumholtz's Pine or pino triste, is a species of conifer in the family Pinaceae. It is native to specific regions in Mexico, including the northeast, northwest, and southwest. The species was first described in 1895 by B.L.Rob. & Fernald. It is named in honor of Carl Sofus Lumholtz, a Norwegian explorer.
