Ludwigia latifolia (Benth.) H.Hara is a species in the genus Ludwigia, belonging to the family Onagraceae. It is native to several regions in South and Central America, including Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Honduras, Nicaragua, Panama, Peru, Suriname, Trinidad-Tobago, and Venezuela. It has also been recorded in specific locations such as Parque Nacional Natural Los Katíos, Amazonas, Cauca, Chocó, Meta, Putumayo, Valle, Vichada, and the Jardín Botánico de Bogotá. The species was first published in 1953.

Description

Ludwigia latifolia is a member of the Onagraceae family, commonly known as the evening primrose family. It is widely distributed across tropical regions of South and Central America. The species has been documented in various countries and protected areas, including Brazil's Northeast and North regions, as well as in Colombia's Amazonas and Chocó departments. It is also found in Bolivia, Costa Rica, and other parts of the Amazon basin. The species was formally described in 1953 under its current scientific name.
