Description

Lucuma bifera, described by Molina in 1782, is a member of the genus Lucuma within the family Sapotaceae. It is cultivated for its fruit, commonly referred to as lúcuma. The species is indigenous to the Andean valleys of several South American countries, including Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, and northern Chile.
