Pritchardia glabrata is a species of palm tree in the Arecaceae family, native to the Hawaiian Islands of Maui and Lanai. It is commonly known as Loulu and is found growing on steep slopes between 300 and 900 metres above sea level. This species is characterized by a slender trunk that rarely exceeds five meters in height and is one of the smaller Pritchardia species.
Description
Pritchardia glabrata is endemic to Maui and Lanai in Hawaii, where it thrives on steep slopes at elevations between 300 and 900 metres. It is a small palm with a slender trunk, typically not exceeding five meters in height. The species is closely related to P. remota and P. waialealeana, sharing a similar simple trunk structure. It was first described in 1921 by Beccari and Rock.
