Ziziphus lotus is a small deciduous tree in the Rhamnaceae family, native to the Mediterranean region and parts of North Africa and the Middle East. It is closely related to Z. jujuba and is one of the species referred to as 'jujube'.

Description

Ziziphus lotus (L.) Lam., commonly known as lotus, is a member of the Rhamnaceae family. It is native to regions including Belgium, Algeria, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Spain, and Morocco, among others. This tree is closely related to Z. jujuba and is sometimes referred to as a jujube species. It was first described in 1789.
