Pritchardia lanigera, known as lo'ulu, is a flowering plant in the Arecaceae family, native to the island of Hawaiʻi. It grows in wet forests on ridges, gulch sides, and gentle slopes, from sea level to 910 m (3,000 ft). The plant reaches a height of 5 m (16 ft) with a trunk diameter of 12–20 cm (30–50 cm). It is at risk due to habitat loss.

Description

Pritchardia lanigera, the lo'ulu, is a species in the palm family Arecaceae, found exclusively on the island of Hawaiʻi. It is typically found in wet forest habitats on ridges, along gulch sides, and on gentle slopes, ranging from sea level up to 910 m (3,000 ft). The plant can grow up to 5 m (16 ft) tall, with a trunk diameter between 30 and 50 cm (12–20 in). The species is currently threatened by the loss of its natural habitat.
