Lithospermum molle, a member of the Boraginaceae family, is a flowering plant native to the Nashville Basin of Tennessee, where it thrives in limestone prairies near cedar glades. Disjunct populations are also found in the Ozark Mountains of Missouri, northwest Alabama, and parts of Kentucky and Tennessee. Outside of Tennessee, the species is very rare, and it may no longer exist in Alabama and Kentucky due to habitat destruction. Its limited geographic range classifies it as vulnerable.
