Protea decurrens, known as linear-leaf sugarbush, is a shrub in the Proteaceae family. It is native to the southwestern Cape Region of South Africa and is characterized by a thick underground rootstock that produces multiple leafy branches. The plant features flower clusters near the base and is pollinated by rodents. It grows in fynbos or renosterveld habitats at low altitudes.

Description

Protea decurrens is a small shrub endemic to the Cape Provinces of South Africa. It has a thick underground rootstock from which numerous leafy branches emerge. Flower heads form in clusters near the base of the plant. This species is adapted to the fynbos and renosterveld ecosystems and is pollinated by rodents. It was first described in 1910 by E. Phillips.
