Polypodium glycyrrhiza, known as licorice fern, is a summer deciduous fern native to northwestern North America. It grows in shaded, damp environments and is distributed across British Columbia, Yukon, Alaska, the Aleutian Islands, California, Idaho, Kamchatka, Oregon, and Washington.

Description

Polypodium glycyrrhiza, also referred to as many-footed fern or sweet root, belongs to the family Polypodiaceae. It is a native species of northwestern North America and is commonly found in moist, shaded habitats. The plant was first described in 1856 by D.C. Eaton.
