Licania tocantina is a species in the genus Licania, belonging to the family Chrysobalanaceae. It was described by Prance in 1983 and is native to northern Brazil.

Description

Licania tocantina is a member of the Chrysobalanaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly known as the yellow-wood family. This species was first published in 1983 by the botanist Prance. Its distribution is restricted to the northern region of Brazil. As part of the genus Licania, it shares characteristics typical of this group, which includes trees and shrubs found primarily in tropical regions.
