Leucostegia immersa is a member of the Hypodematiaceae family and was first published in 1836 by C.Presl. The species has a broad distribution, occurring in regions such as TW, Assam, Borneo, Cambodia, China South-Central, China Southeast, East Himalaya, India, Jawa, Laos, Lesser Sunda Is., Malaya, Maluku, Myanmar, Nepal, New Guinea, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Sulawesi, and Sumatera. It is native to tropical and subtropical areas of Asia.
