Leptopus chinensis is a species in the genus Leptopus, belonging to the family Phyllanthaceae. It was first described in 1960 by Pojark. This plant is native to regions including China (North-Central, South-Central, Southeast, and Tibet), Hainan, Iran, Myanmar, the North Caucasus, Pakistan, and the Transcaucasus.
Description
Leptopus chinensis is a member of the Phyllanthaceae family, a group of flowering plants commonly known as the sand-cherry family. The species is distributed across several regions in Asia and the Caucasus. It is found in various parts of China, including North-Central, South-Central, and Southeast China, as well as in the Chinese region of Tibet. Outside of China, it occurs in Hainan, Iran, Myanmar, Pakistan, and the Transcaucasus. Its presence in the North Caucasus further highlights its geographical spread across temperate and subtropical zones. The species was formally described in 1960 by Pojark, based on earlier work by Bunge.
