Lemon-scented Trillium
Trillium luteum (Muhl.) Harb.

Trillium luteum (Muhl.) Harb., known as Lemon-scented Trillium, is a flowering plant in the Melanthiaceae family. It is part of the Trillium cuneatum complex, a group of closely related sessile-flowered trilliums. The species is native to the southeastern United States, particularly the Great Smoky Mountains region in eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina.
Description
Trillium luteum is found in the southeastern U.S., including Alabama, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Tennessee, and parts of Ontario and California. It was first described in 1901 and is a member of the Melanthiaceae family. This species is distinguished by its yellow flowers and is part of a group of closely related trilliums with sessile flowers.
