Leea guineensis is a shrub species in the Vitaceae family, native to regions across Africa and parts of Asia. It is found in open forest, thicket, forest galleries, and along riverbanks. The plant is documented in Angola, where it is locally known as 'katoto (kb).' It has been used for making artefacts.

Description

Leea guineensis, described by G.Don in 1831, is a member of the Vitaceae family. It is distributed across TW, the Andaman Islands, Angola, Assam, Bangladesh, Benin, Burkina, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, Comoros, Congo, the East Himalaya, Gabon, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, the Gulf of Guinea Islands, and the Ivory Coast. In Angola, it grows in open forest, thicket, forest galleries, and riverbanks. A local name for the species is 'katoto (kb).' The plant has been used in the production of artefacts. A specimen collected by F. Monteiro is preserved in LUAI and LISC herbaria.
