Leea aequata L. is a species in the genus Leea, belonging to the family Vitaceae. It was first described by Carl Linnaeus in 1767. The species is distributed across several regions including the Andaman Islands, Assam, Bangladesh, Borneo, Cambodia, China South-Central, East Himalaya, India, Java, Laos, the Lesser Sunda Islands, Malaya, the Maluku Islands, Myanmar, Nepal, the Nicobar Islands, the Philippines, Sulawesi, Sumatra, and Thailand.

Description

Leea aequata is a member of the Vitaceae family, commonly known as the grape family. The genus Leea was established by Linnaeus and is recognized as the nomen conservandum (conserved name) against the earlier name Nalagu proposed by Adanson. This species is native to a wide range of tropical and subtropical regions in Southeast Asia and the Indian subcontinent. Its distribution includes several island groups and mainland areas, indicating a broad ecological adaptability. The species was first published in 1767 and remains a valid taxon in botanical nomenclature.
