Lecythis lanceolata is a woody plant species in the Lecythidaceae family, native to the Atlantic Forest ecoregion in southeast Brazil. It was first described by Jean Louis Marie Poiret in 1804 and is locally known as sapucaia-mirim.

Lecythis lanceolata belongs to the Lecythidaceae family and is part of the Ericales order. This species is endemic to the Atlantic Forest in southeast Brazil. It was formally described by Jean Louis Marie Poiret in 1804 and is recognized by the local name sapucaia-mirim. The plant is distributed within Brazil, particularly in the northeast, southeast, and west-central regions.
