Lecythis chartacea O.Berg is a species in the Lecythidaceae family, native to the Amazon region. It is found in Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela, particularly in protected areas such as the Reserva Nacional Natural Puinawai, Parque Nacional Natural Yaigojé Apaporis, and Parque Nacional Natural El Tuparro. The species was first described in 1856.
Description
Lecythis chartacea O.Berg belongs to the genus Lecythis within the Lecythidaceae family. It is distributed across the Amazon basin, occurring in Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela. In Colombia, it is documented in the Amazonas, Guaviare, and Vaupés regions, as well as in the Amazonia nororiental and the departamento del Guainía, specifically in the municipio de Inírida. It is also found in the Parque Nacional Natural Serranía de Chiribiquete. The species was first published in 1856 by O.Berg.
