The plant thrives in acidic, nitrified soils and is divided into two subspecies, one found on the Iberian mainland and the other on the Berlengas archipelago.
Description
Echium rosulatum is a species of the genus Echium, first described in 1854. It is found in several European countries, including Belgium, France, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Wales, Portugal, and Spain. However, it is endemic to the western Iberian Peninsula, where it grows in specific soil conditions. Its distribution includes both mainland areas and the Berlengas archipelago, where a distinct subspecies is present.
