Lasiosiphon socotranus is a shrub in the Thymelaeaceae family, native to the island of Socotra in Yemen. It is commonly found in semi-deciduous woodland and shrubland on the western limestone plateaus and at the top of the eastern limestone escarpment. It is also dominant in woodland in the northern wadis of the Hajhir Mountains, typically between 300 and 800 metres in elevation.

Description

Lasiosiphon socotranus is a shrub species endemic to Socotra, part of the Thymelaeaceae family. It thrives in semi-deciduous woodland and shrubland, particularly on the western limestone plateaus and at the summit of the eastern limestone escarpment of the island. The plant is also a dominant species in woodland areas within the northern wadis of the Hajhir Mountains, growing at elevations between 300 and 800 metres. It was first described in 1883 by Balf.f.
