Phemeranthus calycinus, known as largeflower fameflower, is a flowering plant in the Montiaceae family. It is native to central North America, including states like Arkansas, Colorado, Illinois, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska, Oklahoma, and Texas, as well as parts of northeastern Mexico. This species typically grows in glades, sandy areas, and rocky bluffs with outcrops.

Description

Phemeranthus calycinus is a flowering plant species in the Montiaceae family, commonly referred to as largeflower fameflower. It is found in central North America, with a distribution across several U.S. states and into northeastern Mexico. The plant is adapted to open, rocky environments such as glades, sandy soils, and bluffs with exposed rock. It is a member of the genus Phemeranthus and was formally described in 2001.
