Amsinckia grandiflora, known as large-flower fiddleneck, is a wildflower endemic to California. It is classified as an endangered species at both the state and national levels. This species is one of four rare heterostylous plants in the genus Amsinckia, which have limited distributions. It is thought that more common homostylous species in the same genus may have evolved from these rare forms.

Description

Amsinckia grandiflora (A.Gray) Kleeb. ex Greene belongs to the Boraginaceae family and is native to California. It is a wildflower with a highly restricted range and is recognized as an endangered species. The plant is part of a small group of rare heterostylous species within the genus Amsinckia, which are distinct from the more widespread homostylous species.
