Lagerstroemia subcostata, known as the Taiwan crepe myrtle, is a deciduous tree native to Japan, the Ryukyu Islands, Taiwan, and southern China, with an introduction to the Philippines.

Description

Lagerstroemia subcostata, described by Koehne in 1883, is a member of the Lythraceae family. It is native to regions including Japan, the Ryukyu Islands (Nansei-shoto and Ogasawara-shoto), Taiwan, and southern China. The species has also been introduced to the Philippines. It is part of the Lagerstroemia genus, which includes several species commonly known as crepe myrtles.
