Tulipa clusiana, known as the lady tulip, is a species of tulip in the Liliaceae family. It is native to Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, and the western Himalayas. The species was published in 1803 by Redouté. It is cultivated as an ornamental plant and has become naturalized in parts of Europe and North Africa, including France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Tunisia, Greece, and Turkey.
Description
Tulipa clusiana is a member of the Liliaceae family and is found in regions of Asia including Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan, and the western Himalayas. It has been introduced and is now naturalized in several countries across southern Europe and North Africa, such as France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Tunisia, Greece, and Turkey. The species was first described in 1803 by Redouté. It is commonly known as the lady tulip and is grown for its ornamental value.
