Galium verum L.

Galium verum is a herbaceous perennial flowering plant in the Rubiaceae family. It is native to Europe, North Africa, and temperate Asia, and has been naturalized in Tasmania, New Zealand, Canada, and parts of the United States. The plant is commonly known as Lady's Bedstraw.
Description
Galium verum, described by Linnaeus in 1753, is a member of the genus Galium in the Rubiaceae family. It occurs in regions including Greenland, Newfoundland, Alberta, British Columbia, Manitoba, New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Ontario, Prince Edward Island, Quebec, Saint Pierre and Miquelon, Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Flanders, Vermont-US, and parts of Asia. A proposal by Jarvis to conserve the type of Galium verum was later deemed unnecessary by the General Committee. The species is widely distributed across Europe, North Africa, and temperate Asia, from Israel and Turkey to Japan and Kamchatka.
