Encephalartos laurentianus, known as the Kwango Giant Cycad, is a cycad species native to northern Angola and southern Democratic Republic of Congo, specifically along the Kwango River. It was first described in 1903 by De Wild.

Description

This cycad species is part of the Zamiaceae family and is found in the region where Angola and the Democratic Republic of Congo meet. It is commonly referred to as the Kwango Giant Cycad or malele in local terminology. Its distribution is limited to the Kwango River area, and it has been recognized in botanical records since its publication in 1903.
