Aerangis kotschyana is a species of orchid in the family Orchidaceae. It was first described in 1918 and is commonly known as Kotschy's Aerangis. This orchid is native to a wide range of countries in Africa, including Burundi, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, KwaZulu-Natal, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe, as well as the regions of Haute-Guinée and Moyenne-Guinée.

Description

Aerangis kotschyana belongs to the genus Aerangis and is part of the Orchidaceae family, one of the largest families of flowering plants. It is distributed across various regions in sub-Saharan Africa. The species is named after the botanist Kotschya and is recognized for its presence in countries such as Burundi, Central African Republic, Ethiopia, Guinea, Kenya, KwaZulu-Natal, Malawi, Mozambique, Nigeria, Rwanda, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Tanzania, Uganda, Zambia, Zaïre, and Zimbabwe, as well as the areas of Haute-Guinée and Moyenne-Guinée. The species was formally published in 1918.
