Mimetes arboreus, known as Kogelberg Pagoda, is an evergreen shrub or small tree in the Proteaceae family, native to the Fynbos ecoregion of South Africa. It can grow up to 6 m tall, with a smooth grey bark and lance-shaped, silvery leaves. The plant features distinctive inflorescences with pinkish or reddish leaves and bright red styles. It is confined to the Kogelberg mountain range.

Description

Mimetes arboreus is a member of the Proteaceae family and is found in the Cape Provinces. It has a thick trunk that branches between 0.5 and 1 m above the ground. The leaves are 5–8.1 cm long and 0.75–3.25 cm wide, arranged in an upward angle and overlapping. The inflorescences are cylindrical, 8–10 cm in diameter, and consist of multiple flower heads in the axils of pinkish orange leaves. Each flower head contains eight to thirteen individual flowers with grey silky perianth lobes. The species is endemic to the Kogelberg mountain range in the Fynbos ecoregion and was first described in 1982.
