It is native to Eswatini and South Africa and was first described in 1896 by Baker. The plant has been recognized with the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit.

Description

Kniphofia galpinii is a member of the Asphodelaceae family and is found in the regions of KwaZulu-Natal, the Northern Provinces, and Eswatini. This species is part of the Kniphofia genus, which includes various flowering plants commonly known as red-hot pokers. The plant's native range is in southern Africa, and it has been cultivated for horticultural use, earning the Royal Horticultural Society's Award of Garden Merit for its ornamental value.
