Knema glauca is a species in the genus Knema, belonging to the family Myristicaceae. It is found in Borneo, Java, the Lesser Sunda Islands, Malaya, Sumatra, and Thailand. The genus Knema is primarily composed of small to medium trees native to lowland tropical forests across southern and northeastern India, Indochina, the Malay Archipelago, and near the tip of New Guinea. The highest diversity of Knema species occurs in Borneo.

Description

Knema glauca (Blume) Warb. is a member of the Myristicaceae family and is distributed across Borneo, Java, the Lesser Sunda Islands, Malaya, Sumatra, and Thailand. The genus Knema is characterized by small to medium-sized trees and is native to lowland tropical forests in regions spanning from southern and northeastern India, through Indochina and the Malay Archipelago, to near the tip of New Guinea. Borneo represents the area with the greatest diversity of species within the genus. The species was first described in 1897.
