Kilauea hau kuahiwi

Hibiscadelphus giffardianus is a member of the Malvaceae family and is endemic to the Big Island of Hawaii. It is one of several species within the genus Hibiscadelphus, which is unique to the Hawaiian Islands. This species was first published in 1911 by the botanist Rock. It is commonly referred to as Kilauea hau kuahiwi in English and in Hawaiian. Its distribution is limited to the Hawaiian archipelago, where it is part of the island's native flora.
