Kickxia commutata, known as the Mediterranean fluellen, is a perennial herb in the Plantaginaceae family. It has a self-supporting growth form and simple, broad leaves, with a maximum height of 5 cm.

Description

Kickxia commutata is native to the Mediterranean region and parts of North Africa. Its distribution includes areas such as Bulgaria, Albania, Algeria, the Canary Islands, Corsica, Cyprus, France, Greece, Italy, Lebanon-Syria, Libya, Morocco, Sardinia, Sicily, Spain, and Tunisia. The species was first described in 1897 by Fritsch, with the original authorship attributed to Bernh. ex Rchb. It is a low-growing plant, typically reaching a height of 5 cm, and is characterized by its broad, simple leaves and self-supporting structure.
