Citrus latipes (Swingle) Tanaka, commonly known as Khasi papeda, is a small, thorny tree native to Northeast India. It is sometimes confused with the Kaffir lime but is distinct in its characteristics. The fruit is edible but rarely consumed and is extremely uncommon in cultivation. It belongs to the Rutaceae family and was first described in 1929.

Description

Citrus latipes is a member of the Citrus genus and is found in regions including Assam, Bangladesh, Myanmar, and other parts of the Global distribution. It closely resembles both Kaffir limes and Ichang papedas in appearance. Despite its edible fruit, it is not commonly cultivated or consumed. The species is named after its long footstalks, a distinguishing morphological trait.
