Kebrako
Aspidosperma quebracho-blanco Schltdl.

Aspidosperma quebracho-blanco is a South American tree species in the Apocynaceae family, native to Brazil, northern Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay. It is also known as kebrako. The species was first described in 1861 by Schlechtendal, with a gathering from Argentina by Burmeister. The lectotype was designated based on the only extant plate from the original description, and an epitype was selected to aid in species identification. Nomenclatural clarifications were also made for related varieties and species, including the selection of neotypes where original material was missing.
Description
Aspidosperma quebracho-blanco is a tree species found in South America, specifically in Brazil, northern Argentina, Bolivia, Paraguay, and Uruguay. It is part of the Apocynaceae family and is commonly referred to as kebrako. The species was first described in 1861 by Schlechtendal, who cited a collection from Argentina by Burmeister. However, the original material is no longer available, and the only extant element is a plate from the protologue. This plate was designated as the lectotype, and an epitype with leaves, flowers, and follicles was selected to improve identification. For A. quebracho-blanco var. pendulum and A. quebrachoideum, neotypes were chosen due to the absence of original material. These actions were taken in accordance with the International Code of Nomenclature for algae, fungi, and plants (ICN).
