Cyanea stictophylla is a rare flowering plant in the Campanulaceae family, known as Kaiholena cyanea. Endemic to the island of Hawaii, it is found only in the rainforests of Mauna Loa. It is a federally listed endangered species in the United States.
Description
Cyanea stictophylla, described by Rock in 1913, is a member of the genus Cyanea in the bellflower family, Campanulaceae. It is native to the island of Hawaii and is known only from the rainforests of Mauna Loa. The plant is referred to as haha in the Hawaiian language. Due to its limited distribution and conservation status, it is classified as an endangered species under U.S. federal law.
