Johnsonia pubescens, known as the pipe lily, is a grass-like plant in the family Asphodelaceae, subfamily Hemerocallidoideae. It is endemic to the south-west of Western Australia. The species is characterized by its small flowers located at the tip of a spike and partially concealed by large, overlapping, papery bracts.

Description

Johnsonia pubescens is a member of the genus Johnsonia and was first described by Lindl. in 1839. It is native to Western Australia and is part of the Asphodelaceae family. The plant is notable for its unique floral structure, where the flowers are positioned at the end of a spike and are partially hidden by large, papery bracts. This feature is common among species in the genus Johnsonia.
