Jasminanthes mucronata is a species in the family Apocynaceae, native to regions including China South-Central, China Southeast, Japan, Nansei-shoto, and Taiwan. It was formally described in 1995 by W.D. Stevens and P.T. Li, based on earlier work by Blanco.

Description

Jasminanthes mucronata belongs to the genus Jasminanthes within the Apocynaceae family, commonly known as the dogbane family. This species is found in several regions of East Asia, including South-Central and Southeast China, Japan, the Nansei-shoto archipelago, and Taiwan. The scientific name was established in 1995 by botanists W.D. Stevens and P.T. Li, who reclassified the species from its original description by Blanco. The plant is part of a group characterized by milky sap and typically includes shrubs and vines. Its geographic distribution suggests it is adapted to subtropical and temperate climates in East Asia.
