Pterocarya rhoifolia, known as Japanese wingnut, is a tree in the Juglandaceae family. It is native to Japan and parts of China, such as the Laoshan District in Shandong Province, though its presence in China is debated. It also occurs in Korea, the North Caucasus, and Transcaucasus.

Description

Pterocarya rhoifolia is a species in the Juglandaceae family, commonly called Japanese wingnut. It is primarily found in Japan and has a disputed native status in China's Laoshan District, Shandong Province. The tree is also present in Korea, the North Caucasus, and the Transcaucasus region. It was first described in 1845 by Siebold & Zucc.
