Jacaratia mexicana is a tree species in the Caricaceae family, native to central and southern Mexico, Nicaragua, and El Salvador. It grows in tropical dry forests.

Description

Jacaratia mexicana, described by A.DC. in 1864, is a member of the genus Jacaratia within the Caricaceae family. Its distribution includes several regions in Mexico, as well as parts of Central America such as Belize, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, and others. The species is primarily associated with tropical dry forest ecosystems.
