Jacaranda brasiliana (Lam.) J.St.-Hil. is a member of the Bignoniaceae family and is native to Brazil. Its distribution spans across several biomes, including the Amazon, Cerrado, and Caatinga, with occurrences recorded from Mato Grosso to Minas Gerais, and Pará to Bahia. The species was first described in 1805.
